Genomic Research Experiences for Undergraduates (GREU)
The goal of the Genomic Research Experiences for Undergraduates is to prepare and support students for graduate school and/or a career in genomic research. This includes providing high-quality research experiences, professional development opportunities, and mentorship while building a robust community of research scholars.
We are looking for enthusiastic students who are interested in Genomic Research!
Genomic Research Experiences for Undergraduates Foundations
If you are accepted into the GREU program, you will need to complete these requirements.
1. Knowledge Foundation
Required Coursework (16 credits)
· BIO 1080 General Biology I (3 Credits)
· BIO 1090 General Biology Laboratory I (1 Credit)
· BIO 3610 Genetics: Principles & Analysis (4 Credits)
· MTH 1210 Introduction to Statistics (4 Credits)
· UC390 Foundations of Research (1 Credit)
2. Research Experiences
· Receive training in a Techniques Bootcamp
· Participate in three 10-week lab rotations with world-class researchers
· Select a longer-term immersive research project after the rotations
3. Professional Development Skills and Mentoring and Community Building
Professional development/networking events.
Genomic Research Scholars for AY25 Application Period.
This program aims to build scholars’ STEM and research identity in pursuing graduate degrees and careers in Genomic Research.

Eligibility: This is an NIH-funded program. The requirements are:
- Must have completed one academic year at MSU Denver
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Support:
- Tuition and fee
- Health insurance
- Up to $15000 Stipend a year
- Conference Travel
- Technology Support
Commitment:
- ~20 hours a week
