It's Awards Season!

Self-nominations for the Outstanding Student Awards, including the Spring 2025 President’s Award and Provost’s Award, are now open!   

We welcome applications the Spring 2025 President’s Award and Provost’s Award!

We welcome applications for one or more of the 2024-2025 Outstanding Student Awards! The award categories are: 

  • President’s Award (Winner will be a student Spring 2025 Commencement speaker!)   
  • Provost’s Award (Winner will be a student Spring 2025  Commencement speaker!)  
  • Outstanding Service – Student Affairs   
  • Outstanding Student in the College of Aerospace, Computing, Engineering, and Design 
  • Outstanding Student in the College of Business   
  • Outstanding Student in the School of Education   
  • Outstanding Student in the College of Health and Human Sciences  
  • Outstanding Student in the School of Hospitality   
  • Outstanding Student in the College of Letters, Arts, and Science   

 

All awards are initiated through self-nomination. Please consider applying for these awards if you meet the criteria listed below.    

In order to be eligible, you must have applied to graduate in Spring 2025 (or have graduated in Fall or Summer 2024 for the Outstanding Students in the Colleges/Schools and Student Affairs Awards). If you have any questions regarding your graduation plan or eligibility to graduate, please discuss those questions with your academic advisor.  

The nomination deadline for ALL materials, including letters of recommendation, is Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. 

 

PRESIDENT’S AWARD & PROVOST’S AWARD CRITERIA   

  • Undergraduate students who are graduating in the Spring 2025 semester are eligible to apply  
  • Cumulative MSU Denver GPA must be 3.75 or higher  
  • Minimum of 30 academic credit hours must have been completed at MSU Denver, or be in progress 
  • Superior academic achievement, community service, University service (academic, departmental, and/or programmatic) and/or other honors/awards should be described in application materials  
  • Public speaking experience

(Note: be sure to have recommendation letters submitted by MSU Denver staff and/or faculty to support your nomination. Please direct the individuals writing letters of recommendation on your behalf to submit their recommendation through the letter of recommendation link). 

 

OUTSTANDING STUDENT IN THE COLLEGES/SCHOOLS AWARDS CRITERIA 

(College of Business; College of Aerospace, Computing, Engineering, and Design; College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences; College of Health and Human Sciences; School of Education; School of Hospitality- Award category eligibility based on student’s major(s))   

  • Undergraduate students who graduated in Summer or Fall of 2024 or are graduating in the Spring 2025 semester are eligible to apply  
  • Cumulative MSU Denver GPA must be 3.5 or higher 
  • Minimum of 30 academic credit hours must have been completed at MSU Denver, or be in progress  
  • Outstanding achievements (personal and professional), community and University service, and other awards/honors should be detailed in application materials

OUTSTANDING SERVICE – STUDENT AFFAIRS AWARD CRITERIA   

  • Undergraduate or graduate students who have graduated in Summer or Fall 2024 or are graduating in the Spring 2025 semester are eligible to apply  
  • Minimum of 30 academic credit hours must have been completed at MSU Denver, or be in progress  
  • Demonstrated contributions/service to a Student Affairs department or program  
  • Demonstrated embodiment of the MSU Denver core values of Community, Access, Diversity, Respect and Entrepreneurship
