Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
Partnership programs are one of two of our flagship study abroad program options, and are popular ways for MSU Denver students to study abroad while completing their education. In order to see all of our current partnership programs, we use a third-party platform called ViaTRM to house all relevant details.
You have many options to choose from while deciding to do a partnership program. Accordingly, these groups of options are flexible, and may share common characteristics. In addition, we encourage students to combine aspects of different programs. So, ready to learn more? Meeting with an advisor is a great way to figure out if a partnership program is for you while you think about your academic journey.
Looking to be immersed in a different culture while learning? Accordingly, this option allows students to spend an academic semester or year at a university of their choosing. In short, immersive education programs fall under three types: exchanges, direct enrollment, and approved partner programs.
If you’re looking to enroll in an exchange program, you will spend a semester at a university outside the United States while in a program designed to accommodate you. Correspondingly, coursework is often taught in English, and can either be taken with other international students or students from the host country.
Those who directly enroll will take standard classes in the host country, and take courses while alongside regular students. Compared to exchange programs, direct enrollment is more laissez-faire and flexible. While in a direct enrollment program, students can enroll in either summer, semester, or yearlong periods.
Students enrolled in an approved partner program work with a third party such as ISA or USAC to create a custom-tailed study abroad experience while engaging with universities outside the United States.
We know that studying abroad hasn’t always been historically accessible due to funding and economics. Accordingly, there are many different ways you can get help supporting your international education. In short, our flagship pathways to flexible education are Erasmus+ Mobility Grants (International Credit Mobility Grants), the Boren Awards, the Critical Language Scholarship, and the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship.
The International Credit Mobility (ICM) grants or Erasmus+ Mobility Grants are sponsored by the European Union, and provide students an amazing opportunity to learn while connecting with European culture and institutions.
Fellows and scholars of the Boren Awards program study a wide range of critical languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, and Swahili, not to mention many more. Surprisingly, Boren Awards are available to students of all proficiency levels who are committed to enhancing their skills.
Students of color haven’t historically had access to study abroad programs due to racism and discrimination. With this in mind, the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for students of color with an interest in leadership and intercultural communication to pursue a study abroad experience.
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is an immersive summer opportunity for American college and university students to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world while developing professionally and personally. Accordingly, CLS recipients get the unique opportunity to learn while totally immersed.
Without a doubt, experiencing what the world has to offer is life changing. To that end, there’s few ways better to do that than making a difference. Whether it’s working in the United Kingdom as a finance intern or assisting a team of architects in Costa Rica – right from your home – we’ve got plenty of options for you choose from.
Getting involved in an in-person program abroad is a great way to experience the world while growing both personally and professionally – and there’s many different paths forward.
We understand that personal situations may not allow you to physically work abroad due to constraints. On the contrary, this doesn’t mean you’re out of luck. Surprisingly, there’s many great programs designed to offer international work or internships from the comfort of your home.
Engage in a live skill-development bootcamp subsequently followed by an international internship giving students the career-boosting experience they need. In addition, this remote skills-training program is for students of all majors, created to accelerate students’ careers in a rapidly changing job landscape.
Work with a team of 4-6 peers to build essential skills of cross-cultural teamwork and collaboration, concept design, while developing innovative business solutions to global challenges. Another key point is that this leverages the UN Global Goals as a blueprint for understanding global problems that need solving.
