Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
The 2024-25 HRSA cohort is the last cohort of students for this grant. At this time there are no HRSA funding opportunities for students. If this changes we will let students know. (effective 1/24/25)
This opportunity includes: a $10,000 stipend, specialized field placement, and training program with a focus on integrated behavioral health care which provides services to children, adolescents, and/or transitional age youth in rural and medically underserved areas.
The HRSA Integrative Care Stipend Program is a federally funded workforce development program available to concentration year and/or final year Social Work graduate students who are interested in committing to strengthening the workforce in Colorado by focusing on integrated behavioral health care. To that end the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded $1.9 million (over 4 years) to MSU Denver MSW program to fund $10,000 scholarships for 29 concentration year clinical social work students who plan to work with children, youth, transition-age youth and their families in vulnerable, rural, or medically underserved areas.
The program’s goals are to diversify the behavioral health care workforce in Colorado while improving health equity by building, strengthening and innovating our integrative care services.
HRSA invests in the workforce by providing stipend funding and supplementary training to MSW student scholars who are passionate about health equity, and whose career interests (field placement and employment) align with the goals of the HRSA Program.
The selected scholars are awarded a $10,000 stipend for the academic year and in return, must participate in a monthly supplemental training program during the academic year, and commit to 12-months of full-time employment in an approved Behavioral Health Care agency in Colorado, post-graduation.
Participants are obligated to work for one year (12 months) in a behavioral, mental, or integrated health care setting which provides services to children, youth, transition-age youth and their families in vulnerable, rural, or medically underserved areas.
