Study Abroad Experiences

International Business Programs offer two faculty led, business-oriented study abroad programs per year.  We vary the international destinations depending on country market conditions, quality of program options and affordability. In 2023, we took students to Costa Rica in January and Argentina in May.

In early 2024, students had the opportunity to visit Vietnam and Thailand.

We visit several businesses during our programs.

In Argentina, we went to a local honey export business and a domestic men’s clothing company.  In each location, students were able to visit the showrooms, tour the production facilities & have a business meeting with either the owner or top manager.

Students on study abroad trip in vietnam

During our Vietnam and Thailand trip, students were able to visit facilities from all kinds of different industries such as a steel company, fertalizer manufacturer, and seafood trader.

This emphasized the importance of market research and branding, focusing on the premium market segment and presenting real-world examples of risk and payoff.

It’s not all business though, we always include activities that give students the opportunity to explore these destinations and become immersed in the culture.

The most enriching part of studying abroad though….

….is the chance to challenge yourself, step out of your comfort zone, and become apart of the global community.

Semester and One-Year Study Abroad Opportunities

MSU Denver College of Business has study abroad agreements with several international partner universities which students can attend for a semester or a full academic year.

Students attending a university partner will do so as either a directly enrolled student or as an exchange student. With direct enrollment, students earn transfer credits applicable towards their degree and do not pay MSU Denver tuition. They pay all costs directly to the host university. MSU Denver will then recognize these transfer credits as valid towards the student’s degree.

Exchange students earn specific MSU Denver credits and pay MSU Denver tuition. Students are also responsible for fees at the host institution, plus additional costs of being abroad (housing, airfare, meals, etc.).
